Nancy is an Associate Professor of Special Education/Reading in the School of Education at SCSU. She has a Bachelors degree from Wilson College, PA and a Ed.D., Ed.M. and C.A.G.S. from Boston University, MA. She was a classroom teacher for 25 years and she currently teaches courses in developmental reading, the craft of writing, and supervision and administration of school reading programs. Nancy provides professional development to many school districts, presenting workshops, modeling best practices in classrooms, and coaching teachers. Her areas of interests include the explicit teaching of comprehension strategies, teaching written response to text, expository writing, and skills of presenting, modeling, and coaching for reading consultants.
